I was out by riding my 'cross bike a couple of weeks ago ... a foggy Saturday morning. A perfect morning for a ride, if you like cool foggy mornings. And who doesn't?!
This was the second time I took my 'cross bike out for an off-road ride. The gearing is quite a bit higher than on my mountain bike, and my knees were definitely feeling some pain. But I was feeling great otherwise, and enjoying my moment. About 2/3 of the way up the hill I was surprised by a coyote. I don't think I've ever been that close to one. She (or he) dropped down from the high side of the road, leisurely crossed the road, and bounded off down the hill below without ever looking my direction. Super cool.
